The National Football
League, 2014 preseason will kick off with Buffalo Bills face off N.Y. Giants
in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday, Aug. 3, at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
Which means that the two teams will play an extra preseason game, opening their
respective training camps earlier than the rest of the NFL Squads. Bills and
Giants have not played each other in the regular season since 2011. The Bills
were defeated by the Giants 20-19, when more than twenty three years ago the
two teams faced off in Super Bowl XXV. The game will be broadcast on Westwood
One Radio and televised on NBC at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
The game will take place the day after the induction
of the seven members of the 2014 Hall of Fame class, that includes former Bills
receiver Andre Reed and former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan. Joining
them in the 2014 Hall of Fame class
are linebacker Derrick Brooks, punter Ray Guy, defensive end Claude Humphrey,
offensive tackle Walter Jones and defensive back Aeneas Williams. These players are selected by the committee out of 126
nominees narrowed down to semifinalists and then finalists. Only the best among
the finalists get to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
It will be the first time the
Giants and Buffalo will face each other in the League's opening game. N.Y.
Giants' first Hall of Fame game ended in a 21-21 tie against Cardinals in 1962.
The Bills are 0 -3 in the game's history, while the Giants are 2-1-1. Neither
of the teams has posted a winning record since 2004. Bills hasn't even made the
playoffs since 1999. So both teams will
be trying for a quick turnaround after a disappointing finish in 2013.
A spectacular game is
expected from Giants and Bills. We wish both the teams all the best for the
preseason exhibition game as well as all other events in up-coming National League Football season.
